Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan
Overview
In Q2 2025, the Pakistan Architecture & Infrastructure Relief Program (PAIRP) is dedicating its funds toward rebuilding and repairing homes affected by the devastating floods in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP). This initiative focuses on architecture-driven relief, funding small-scale structural repairs, flood-resilient materials, and low-cost design solutions to help families recover safely and sustainably. Through collaboration with local volunteers and community organizations, PAIRP ensures that each project is transparent, verifiable, and documented, with photos and reports showcasing tangible impact. Our goal is not only to restore homes but also to introduce resilient construction practices that reduce future flood risks, embodying PAIRP’s mission to combine humanitarian aid with architectural expertise.

Why Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa?
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) is one of the regions in Pakistan most frequently affected by floods and natural disasters, with many rural communities facing recurrent damage to homes, schools, and infrastructure. The combination of mountainous terrain, heavy monsoon rainfall, and limited access to resilient building materials makes recovery particularly challenging. PAIRP has chosen KP for Q2 2025 to directly address these vulnerabilities, providing architectural guidance, sustainable repair solutions, and locally sourced materials. By focusing on KP, we aim to maximize impact where the need is greatest, while promoting flood-resilient construction practices that can serve as a model for other regions in Pakistan.
What is being done?
This quarter, PAIRP is focusing on constructing clean water wells in high-need areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. We are working closely with local partners to identify communities that lack reliable access to safe drinking water, and beginning the planning and initial construction phases for these wells. Our goal this quarter is to ensure that the first set of wells is operational, providing immediate relief and improving the health and resilience of these communities.
